ASR International Corporation’s Director of Engineering Services, Mr. Praveen Anumolu, presented a paper on Industry 4.0 at the International Telecommunications Society 21st Biennial Conference, “ Interconnecting Everything: Harnessing Business, Policy and Smart Societies”, held at the Regent Taipei, Taiwan, on June 26-29, 2016 (http://its2016taiwan.com). The paper “Opportunities and Challenges of Industry 4.0” was authored by Mr. Praveen Anumolu and Dr. P. M. Rao, Professor, College of Management, Long Island University, Post Campus.

Abstract

Worldwide manufacturing is currently undergoing a 4th Industrial Revolution. This revolution, called Industry 4.0, integrates Cyber Physical systems with networks of sensors and the Internet of Things and the Internet of Services. The result is a dramatically improved efficiency, decreased cost, and increase versatility in meeting demand. Despite these dramatic benefits, Industry 4.0 presents many challenges. This paper we addresses some of the issues associated with the adaption of Industry 4.0. They include cyber security, intellectual property protection, data analytics, and the impact on manufacturing and service sector jobs.
