Section 508, part of the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998, requires that when US Federal Government agencies develop, procure, maintain, or use Electronic and Information Technology (EIT), they shall ensure that the electronic and information technology be accessible to Federal employees and members of the public with disabilities.

ASR International Corporation provides IT, Engineering, and Professional Services to the US Federal Government via contract vehicles including our GSA IT and GSA PSS Schedules. The ASR team performing these services for the Government may produce several categories of Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) deliverables subject to Section 508 standards compliance, based on customer requirements, including:

  • Deliverables including electronic documents, publications, reports, documentation, presentations, training materials, multimedia
  • Software applications developed or maintained for Federal Government customers
  • Websites developed or maintained for Federal Government customers

ASR understands the importance of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and deploys professionals trained and oriented in producing deliverables in compliance with Section 508 EIT standards. ASR’s corporate project management team is also trained and aware of Section 508 standards. ASR conducts continual training, as required, for both the ASR field team and ASR corporate project/program management team, in producing Section 508 compliant deliverables in a constantly changing technological landscape. The ASR Project and Program Managers assigned to each contract are responsible for ensuring contract deliverables produced by the ASR team comply with the applicable Section 508 standards as well as any specific contractual, project, or Federal Government agency accessibility requirements.
