Scope of Work

  • Repairs, maintains and modifies/improves test stations used in the overhaul of night vision target acquisition systems and components (primary systems include infrared electro- optics and/or image intensifiers with emphasis on second generation infrared sensors and thermal imagers and sensor processing).
  • Applies knowledge of electronics engineering, optics, physics and systems engineering as applicable to thermal images, as well as digital processing and computer architectures.
  • Applies knowledge in infrared focal plane arrays and cryogenics.
  • Analyzes complex concepts related to infrared systems and subsystems from hardware, software and performance perspectives.
  • Evaluates system performance in order to make appropriate decisions related to the repair and/or modification of the production test equipment.
  • Directs or performs set up of general instrumentation and test equipment and employs accepted techniques and procedures to perform measurements and/or acquire data on the electro- optic systems and/or components under test.

Skills and Knowledge Required for the Position

  • Four year BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university. Accreditation of educational institution must come from an institution recognized by either the USDE or the CHEA.
  • Three years of relevant experience
